Thriving Communities Mini Grant.
The South Coast Equity Coalition is part of a statewide initiative that serves as a bridge to historically underserved and underrepresented communities to empower diverse groups to become involved in developing unique, culturally appropriate solutions to pervasive issues of inequity that impact the health outcomes and well-being of community members.
Our priority populations are:
Communities of Color
Tribal Nations with ancestral ties to Coos & Curry Counties
Immigrants and refugees
Migrant and Seasonal farmworkers
Low-income populations
People with disabilities
LGBTQIA2S+ communities
*Communities of Color is defined as members of the following racial or ethnic communities: American Indian/Alaska Native;Hispanic/Latino/a/x; Asian; Native Hawaiians/Pacific Islanders; Black/African American; (Middle Eastern/North African; Mixed race individuals; orOther racial or ethnic minorities.
SCEC funding can support activities/projects/events that lead to policy and systems change. Community building, community education, and capacity building for our priority populations are all allowable uses of funds. Applicants must be a 501(c)3 organization or fiscally sponsored, Tribal Nation, or Culturally specific/community-based organization.
Our goal is for organizations across Coos and Curry County to utilize SCEC funding for assisting community members in reaching their highest level of health and wellness regardless of social position or other socially determined factors such as race, ethnicity, language, disability, sexual orientation, gender, immigration status, or socioeconomic status, etc.
