Living Room Conversation: Fostering Human Dignity and Democracy
Who: Join Rural Organizing Project, South Coast Equity Coalition and Southern Oregon Coast Pride in gathering together as folks who care about democracy. Whether you are already part of a group organizing around this already, or you just want to connect with other community members around this topic, we want you in the room!
What: ROP will lay out some reflections on what seems to be happening at a national level in regard to democracy and the way that the anti-democratic movement is attempting to break the core pillars of our community. Then we will facilitate a conversation around what is going on in Coos County specifically and scheme ways to strengthen our democracy. ROP will also compile the results of this and similar conversations across the state for broader use.
When: Tuesday, April 4th. 6-7:30 pm
Where: North Bend Public Library, 1800 Sherman Ave, North Bend, OR 97459
Why: From attacks on democracy targeting queer and trans youth, the local library and more, there is a LOT happening on the South Coast and beyond these days! We want some concrete feedback on how we can prepare our towns for the next attempts by the Right to pit neighbors against neighbors and break democracy at every level. We need all of us in this together, figuring out how to put our collective vision for our communities into action.
RSVP: We have space for 15 folks. Call, text or email Emma Ronai-Durning to reserve your spot.
